Desire Discrepancy through an EFT Lens: Understanding and Transforming Sexual Connection in Couples

Join us for an HCEFT Community Meeting on Desire Discrepancy in Couples, led by AASECT-certified sex therapist and EFT certified supervisor, Michelle Puster

Join us for an exploration of desire discrepancy in couples therapy through an Emotionally Focused lens. Learn to move beyond surface symptoms to address the deeper attachment dynamics that fuel sexual disconnection.

We'll discuss how to:

  • Identify hidden contributors to desire discrepancy including spontaneous versus responsive desire, pain during sex, erotic attachment injuries, and more.
  • Conceptualize desire discrepancy within the negative cycle and recognize pursuit-withdraw dynamics around intimacy
  • Access and work with underlying emotions in sexual relationship — fear of rejection, grief, longing, and sexual shame
  • Create safety for couples to risk vulnerable conversations about their sexual relationship
  • Apply practical EFT strategies through live case examples and interactive Q&A on cases from your practice

This event will be held as a hybrid meeting, giving you the option to join us virtually on Zoom or in person at The PractiSage Therapist Collective at 1225 North Loop West, Suite 935 in the Heights.

If you are joining us in person, there will be a 30 minute networking breakfast held from 9-9:30am, so feel free to come early!
